The Gamma Gamma chapter of Phi Mu com pleted the merger on this campus by pledging and initiating ten mem- l/ers of the Psi chapter of Aljiha Delta Tuesday and Wednesday, Noy. 7th and 8th. q'he foHovying girls were pledged and initiated: Eli/.abeth Brammer of Christiansburg, Va., Martha Baldwin of Mt. Betty Gardner, president, gave a welcome at this time to the new initiates, and the re sponse was given by Elizabeth Bram mer, former president of the Psi chapter. Also attending the banquet were - Mrs. Carroll Melton of Norfolk, Va. president of District Two; Mrs. E. *E. Huffman and Miss Cordelia Henderson, advisors of the chapter; Mrs C. N. Peeler, Mrs. Eli Springs, Mrs J. A. Mayo, and Mrs. W. M. Sherrill, patronesses. At this time our school played hostess to the North Carolina Chapter of the American Associa tion of Teachers of French. The Fall session was held here at the inyitation of the college and was un der the superv'lsion of Dr. Lucille Delano and Miss Jo Langford. Dr. Delano, in her capacity as Pres ident of the organization pre side at the meeting. Has Two Guests Mrs. Sidney R. Stanard, grand pres ident of Alplia Delta Pi, has Just visited Beta Iota chajiter here on the Queens-Chicora camjms. Mrs. Stanard, who live^ in Web ster Groves, Missouri, arrived at the college November 7th and was here for several days. She was on her way to Chapel Hill where she installed a new chaptiy of Alpha Delta Pi, Beta U])silon, Saturday. After this in stallation Mrs. Stanard will visit the sorority’s chapter at Duke Univer sity. Tbe chapter here on Queens-Chicora canqnis was also visited hy the Gamma province president, Mrs. William T. Emblen of Whelan, W. Va. Mrs. Emblen arrived Novemher 5th and was here for several days. Miss Anne Vann, faculty advisor for the chapter, honored Mrs. Emblen at a coffee given at the sor ority bouse. Members of the chapter and Miss Clara Barnett Slaton, dean of women, were guests. Sunday eve ning tbe alumnae of tbe chapter at tended tbe “feed” at the house. Mem bers of the active chapter on the campus entertained both Mrs. Stan ard and Mrs. Emblen at an in formal party at the sorority house on November 7th. Several members of the local chap ter went to Cliapel Hill Saturday to helj) with the installation of the new chapter on the University of North Carolina campus. They also attended an installation tea and banquet. The addition of this new chapter gives the national sorority a total of 58 chapters. iL
